CourtsWise is designed so that very little about you reaches it at all. This page says exactly what is collected, why, and how to have it removed. The data controller is Codable Labs Ltd, Ireland.

The tools

Every tool runs in your browser. The dates, readings, points and answers you type are never sent to this site’s servers, and no tool asks for your name or for a document. The drink-driving checker and the legal aid check keep nothing at all. The maintenance worksheet and the court-day checklist keep your answers in your browser’s session storage until you close the tab. The case file keeps its events in your browser’s local storage, and its attached evidence in your browser’s own database, until you clear them, and exports as a file you hold; it is never synced. If you copy a share link, your inputs are encoded in the part of the address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to any server and which analytics never records. Nothing is sent to the court or the Garda.

Analytics

The site uses Plausible, a cookieless analytics service, to count page views and a small set of events such as “enquiry sent”. No personal data, no tool inputs and no URL fragments are recorded, and there are no custom events on the drink-driving, drugs, family-law or children’s pages. No consent banner is needed because no cookies are set and no identifier is stored on your device.

The enquiry form

If you ask to be contacted by a solicitor, the form collects your name, email address, the court district and courthouse you chose, what your enquiry is about (the group only), where you are in the process, a court date if you give one, your answer on legal aid and on a social welfare payment, how you want to be contacted, a phone number only if you give one, and a short description of your situation only if you write one (600 characters at most; the form asks you not to include a PPSN or a case number). With your explicit consent these details are stored securely with a reference number and passed to the solicitor firm that sponsors the pages for your district, which contacts you directly. Nothing else is collected: no reading, no detail of the charge, nothing from a tool. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How a sponsoring firm pays this site is on the disclosure page. No payment depends on your enquiry.

Retention and your rights

Enquiries are kept for twelve months and then deleted. You can ask for your enquiry to be deleted sooner, for a copy of what is held, or for a correction, by writing to privacy@courtswise.ie with your reference number. You can complain to the Data Protection Commission if you are unhappy with how your data has been handled.

Hosting

The site is served from Cloudflare’s network. Enquiries are stored in a database hosted by Supabase in the EU and forwarded by email through Resend. These providers process data on Codable Labs Ltd’s instructions only.
